About Principle Energy
Principle Energy is a company within the Principle Capital group of managed companies. Its primary strategy is focused on developing major sugar cane based greenfield energy oppportunities as well as converting existing sugar cane operations in the tropical and subtropical belt of Africa.
Principle Energy was established in 2007 and is managed by Principle Energy Management Services Limited ("PEMS"), a subsidiary of the Principle Capital group. The founding shareholders include the Principle Capital group as well as several major institutional investors.
Principle Energy's directors and senior management comprise Brian Myerson (co-founder and executive chairman of Principle Capital), Brian Padgett (co-founder and director of Principle Capital), Richard Hurly, Gavin Scott and Stephen Read, as well as several members of the wider Principle Capital team. The management team has a successful investment track record in Africa and renewable energy.
Principle Energy has also engaged several experts, including Paul Zorner, and consultants in the technical areas of the ethanol production process, particularly in large-scale project development in southern Africa in order to maximise the expertise available for its projects.
